The Concordia

I have just this minute heard about the Concordia, a tall ship out of Lunenberg that sank off the coast of Brazil this morning due to high winds and rough seas (http://montreal.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20100219/brazil_ship_100219/20100219/?hub=MontrealHome).

All 64 crew were rescued, but it puts into perspective exactly what we are going to be putting ourselves through during the trip.  There are going to be some fantastic times, but it is clear that it is no walk in the park, the Concordia is a very similar boat to the Picton Castle, a slightly larger “Barquentine” at 57,5m long compared to the Picton’s 54,5m, if she can capsize, then so can we!

Glad to hear everyone was rescued safely.
